    Abstract

Among the operations of educational assessment, the decision is based on measurement and appreciation. The discussions about the measurement strategies of educational results, focus on relevant dimensions, how they are being offered by the respondent (separately or globally), and what methods should be used, how situational variables could be controlled so that the measurement should be accurate and confident/precise. The hypothesis of this study comes from the interrogation related to the desire of measuring so accurately. A simple, but a fair answer, would be that measurement should ensure data reproducibility, namely the certainty or confidence that what is submissive to the measurement would give the same results whether it would be accomplished by different evaluators, but with the same measuring instrument or at short periods of time. Therefore, this study is about the features/properties (values) of qualitative educational assessment and about the methods they provide.

    Abstract

The use of measuring instruments in any scientific research is one of the most critical methodological steps. This step is of such importance that it determines the efficiency and effectiveness of the research as a whole. It must guarantee their validity and loyalty, not subjecting them to the requirements of psychometric is simply exposing the results of research to be null. Validity and reliability are two procedures in testing, measuring instrument design. Cronbach’s coefficient alpha is probably the most frequently reported measure of reliability and most certainly the most abused one. Concerning reliability, Cronbach alpha weaknesses were examined, and some recommended alternatives method for assessing reliability such as stratified alpha, and composite reliability (construct reliability or Rho) were considered.

    Abstract

To think about the pedagogical process of teaching, it is first necessary to specify the field in question. In this article, it is a research in the audiovisual discipline. We seek to develop the methodologies of teaching this discipline by pushing the theoretical reflections and considering practical pedagogical solutions. It is a question of defining the alliance between audio-visual creation and teaching, and to look consequently in the modalities and the perspectives of work where it will be possible to teach creation and to initiate the students to heuristic productions. To do so we implement concepts or key terms that we have invented: the stage-class is the new teaching environment that we propose where the tasks specific to an audiovisual project are carried out in settings very particular scenes. The setting in image of the figures of the imaginary, it is about a series of experiments in favor of an illustration of fantasized, dreamed or imagined images. This article therefore proposes a profound investigation into the methodologies of audiovisual education with the objective of developing the creative process specific to this discipline.

    Abstract

The academic writing is part of any scientific work, and the strength of the article is evaluated by its persuasive force. Its primary objective is to give the reader the desire to know more. So, to find answers to his questions, the student must develop a scientific research, however the latter requires a mastery of language, scientific writing, knowledge about the methodology of university research. To write his article, the student, of course, is called to choose a specific subject, but he is called more to choose a problem, hypotheses, objectives of work and at the same time he must design a plan and a method of work, a relevant bibliography and interpret the data collected and the results obtained. As any research must bring new science, it is mandatory that the student not only compiles information that already exists. Writing a first scientific article is one of the most difficult and frustrating experiences in a researcher's career. So, this contribution aims to show students how to write their scientific articles, especially for the first time.

    Abstract

At the threshold of the 21st century, the use of new IT systems enhances the educational and socio-professional environment, in order to increase the effectiveness of the pedagogical act. Under this aspect, it would be interesting to focus on the good practices to be adopted in the teaching of modern languages (DDL) by setting up innovative research methodologies. In that case, the comparative-benchmarking case study is considered as a research strategy, which leads to better management of the teaching process enabling to evaluate computer and multimedia teaching tools. Thus, the comparative benchmarking analysis invented by Robert Camp is conceived as a powerful method of guaranteeing superiority in making comparisons among institutes or similar products in order to adopt adaptable best practices in specific contexts in order to achieve excellence. Benchmarking is a collaborative strategy that encourages awareness but also trust and commitment of partners to deepen further the functions and processes of an organization and to improve the products offered. More specifically, we will be interested in a comparative study – benchmarking of mobile applications with a pedagogical aim. On the one hand, making comparisons with other mobile applications enhances research in exploring more sophisticated new products. On the other hand, we realize the strengths as well as the weaknesses of the use of these software to go in searching other innovative functions. Finally, the approach of the benchmarking research strategy will lead to the collection of data by the elaboration of a comparative evaluation grid, in order to propose a process of measurement of the digital interfaces used in the Didactics of foreign languages.

    Abstract

This article reports on the results of a study that focused on the assessment of the phonological awareness of students in the Moroccan East who have difficulty deciphering French. To do this, we developed phonological awareness tests aimed at the different abilities related to this skill that we administered to students identified as having difficulties with reading through a diagnostic evaluation they had. The statistical analysis of the results allowed us to conclude that this category of students suffers from a deficiency of phonological awareness, in particular concerning the decomposition capacities of oral statements in lexical units, as well as those relating to segmentation and fusion of syllables and phonemes. We have also found statistically significant correlations between general phonological awareness and decryption performance, which supports the results of many research studies conducted in this area in other teaching / learning contexts.

    Abstract

According to the competence paradigm, identified both in theory and educational practice, the teachers' pre-service professionalisation should be achieved from the perspective of training and practising essential competences and roles associated with an effective teacher who must be able to deal with all educational and class management aspects. The present study aims to investigate the opinion of the students/pre-service teachers on the teacher's ideal profile in the context of the current Romanian pre-university education. The research we initiated included 80 2nd year Master's students of the Faculty of Letters, enrolled in the Teacher Training Programme (Level 2). The research methods used were the survey based on the questionnaire, and the focus group interview. The questionnaire was applied to all 80 subjects, but the interview was conducted with only on 20 people, out of the 80. For the interpretation of the results, we used tables, charts, histograms. As a result of the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results, we formulated relevant conclusions about the teacher's profile.

    Abstract

The material we present proposes a brief review of the pedagogical research methodology, advocating, in the case of the students preparing to become teachers and familiarizing with this aspect, for the action research. By the way of constructing the article we wanted to emphasize the complementarity between the quantitative and the qualitative approach and, from the point of view of the results of our micro-research, we were able to find out what the methodological preferences of the beginner students are, if they practice designing certain studies. As a consequence we have identified a definite correlation between the students’ specialization and the choice of the research approach. The most accessible method for them was the observation, and the less used is the biographical method. We conclude that, from the perspective of the future teachers, accomplishing the research is a constructive activity, and this is determined by the correct understanding of the specificity of the educational field and the role that the pedagogical research has.

    Abstract

To consider the speeches of a doctoral thesis as a possible opening to reveal some components of the identity of its author never seems a closed track, on the contrary, we think that through the study of the linguistic forms exploited by the thesis, the ethos of the doctoral student is raised forcefully and that its identities (psychosocial and discursive) find means of manifestation. Based on a corpus of 25 doctoral theses published online, written in French and supported from 2000 onwards, we carry out a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the facts likely to mark these identities. Inspired by Patrick Charaudeau, our analysis grid emphasizes the particularities of the identity facts of the doctoral writing.

    Abstract

This study aims to present a diagnosis of the frequency of manifestation/occurrence of learning difficulties in the school context. Because the area of manifestation is quite large, being different from one discipline to another, we focused on a single subject (Romanian language and literature) and on a sample of students belonging to a single class (9th grade), as a transition class from secondary school to high school. On the other hand, the study attempts to distinguish between learning difficulties and learning disabilities or learning disruptive behavior, the latter being rather the characteristic of children with special educational needs. Our preoccupations in the field are long established, in this respect, studies and research having been undertaken on the basis of representative samples, in the form of constrative or ameliorative type micro-research. Although in the mainstream literature the learning difficulties have been approached from different perspectives (psychological, psychiatric, neurological, biological, neurophysiological), our attempts to capture the specificities of the learning difficulties from the point of view of the symptomatological and etiological point of view belong to the pedagogical dimension for the purpose of finding ways, means, methods, strategies, approaches, solutions to improve the frequency of manifestation. With the help of teachers of Romanian language and literature and of the students enrolled in the teacher training programme, the 3rd year Bachelor's degree students (specialisation Romanian - foreign Language), which had the pedagogical practice in various schools in Craiova, we succeeded in drawing up aspects regarding the etiology, symptomatology and solutions to reduce the frequency of learning difficulties.

    Abstract

One of the key responsibilities of a teacher is to initiate and carry out pedagogical research so as to make their own teaching activity more efficient, improve it and, implicitly, the students' learning. The research competence plays an important role in the teacher's competence profile, enhancing the latter. We believe that the Pre-service Teacher Training Programme should maximise opportunities for exercising this competence. The subjects in the curriculum, both for Level 1 training, but especially for Level 2, create such opportunities. The study aims to investigate the effectiveness of some of the ways in which this competence is exercised by Master's students, within the discipline of Methodology of Educational Research, which is part of the curriculum of the Teacher Training Programme - Level 2. The research methods used were the survey, based on questionnaire, and the pedagogical content knowledge test, the appropriate tools being the pedagogical content knowledge test and questionnaire. The sample of subjects was made up of 83 1st year Master's students of the Faculty of Letters, (in Romanian, English, French, translation, communication, music, acting), enrolled in the Teacher Training Programme - Level 2. The results obtained have made it possible to identify the pre-service teachers' level of training, and the development of the competence to design pedagogical research.

    Abstract

The accelerated development of the materials used in the dental office as well as the state-of-the-art equipment necessary for the complex oral rehabilitation therapy required the involvement of a large number of specialists in the field in order to carry out studies aimed at increasing the quality of life of the patient and optimize the way dental work is done. Currently, dental medicine has become a medical sector requiring interdisciplinarity especially in the case of patients with systemic conditions that can influence dental medical treatment. Between disorders at the level of the oral cavity and systemic ones there is an important interdependence which, if not properly and seriously addressed, can have adverse consequences on the patient's health. Dental studies focus on a number of issues including: determining the causes of the patient's anxiety about the dentist, assessing the patient's bio-psychosocial behavior and the degree of awareness of the negative effects in case of non-attendance at the regular check-up (tested by questionnaire on patients), performing histological laboratory studies by biopsy to establish a diagnosis. In order to be able to conduct the studies under appropriate conditions that do not endanger the patient's health or moral integrity, it is imperative that the specialist has the necessary knowledge of medical ethics and deontology.
